textHELP! ScreenReader is a user friendly utility tool bar
which allows your PC to read text aloud in any windows
application. If you want your email read aloud or would like
confirmation of numbers being typed into a spreadsheet,
ScreenReader is the package for you!
The toolbar features 5 icons.
The first reads text; simply highlight the text you want to
read, click the icon and textHELP! ScreenReader will speak the written text.
The second allows you to have the text highlighted as it is spoken to you, helping you
concentrate on what is being read.
The third icon permits you to stop selected speech at any time while text is being read
to you.
The fourth icon opens an existing text file on your computer and allows you to have the
whole file read. Depending on your settings ScreenReader will speak the written word
accordingly.
The fifth and final icon is the Properties panel. This is where you may customize the
voice; choose your animated character then adjust the pitch, speed, volume and tone
accordingly. Within the properties panel it is also possible to adjust the pronunciation of
words, the amount of automatic ScreenReading (whether particular icons and buttons or
everything possible) you desire. You may also customize hot keys, and all instructions
may be found in the help files (these too may be spoken).
