Scan Fast Slow Disk is THE complete cataloguing program.
Do you ever have the problem of finding a specific file or game on your
many disks, CD`s or other media? Either every single disk has to be
inserted and scanned or long tables of contents for each disk have to be
written. This is now a thing of the past: media, scanned only once, can
now be searched with the help of a database, within seconds - obviously
without having to insert the medium! Zip-files can be automatically
analysed and then depicted as folders/directories and, if desired, a
little preview picture is then constructed out of graphics - so you always
have the perfect overview!
What is especially interesting for companies is that networks can be
scanned with SFSD. It protects the network when later accessing unknown
files, as the network is accessed not by searching but by opening the
files. SFSD can be installed on a server from which many users can access
files at the same time as well as being able to actualise them too.
The highlights:
* converts all media (incl. of networks) into virtual drives.
* has a layout similar to that of the Explorer.
* stores Zip-files as directories - thus enabling immediate visibility of
the contained files.
* searches any scanned media with high efficiency.
* has extra comments for files. Information can be stored here and searched
later without having to rename the files, eg. for the file
┤iexplorer.exe`the designation ┤Internet Explorer` would fit.
* has other functions for extra designations. SFSD automatically leaves out
tags from MPEG Layer 3 (MP3), MOD┤s, Yamaha SoundVQ (VQF) music files,
BBS and from fileid.diz description files. With BMP-, GIF-, TGA- and PCX
graphics files size, colour and format are attached as extra designations.
The functions are realised as Plug-ins and can be further developed by the
user.
* uses audio CD┤s to their maximum: The CD, whose content should already
have been inputted in to the Windows CD player, has to be scanned in and
is then automatically transferred and integrated in to the database.
It is then immediatly obvious which song belongs to a track.
* searches file duplicates.
* has a preview function for graphics: SFSD scans JPEG, GIF, or BMP files,
it reads them in, reduces them and then integrates them in to the
database. Then with a simple click on the scanned file the graphics will
immediatly be displayed - without delay!
* has the Export Manager which is convenient for exporting media.
This expert makes a clear list of all files and directories from the
media. All can be exported in list format, tree form, as a CSV- or
dBASE- DATABASE, or as a complete HTML web.
