David is the unique turntable for each kind of information. Apart from
message types such as eMail, Fax, SMS and VoiceMails, David disposes of
a high-performance appointments diary and a fantastic document
management system. All new messages reach the "In" file, no matter,
how they were transmitted. The medium is not important anymore. What's
actually important is the information. Information have to be available
independent from location and time, so the access outside the office is
possible at any time.
New in v8+:

The user interface of David V8+, the revised David InfoCenter, is now
equipped with 3D symbols and new background graphics. The menu bar
contains less symbols and menus that are clearly arranged.
The InfoCenter has become even more user-friendly and can be operated
intuitively. The new Tabbed Desktop principle allows the instant change
from several work environments, and also between different servers.
A Quickfinder right at the main menu of the InfoCenter facilitates
the searching for information and the integrated RSS ticker is
supplying the user with the latest news.
To take advantage of the internet in the best possible way, the remote
access to the David server is now an inherent part of David V8+.
A browser can be used to access the David InfoCenter Web and all
messages and data that are available at the server at any time. Also
David V8+ can be used to send SMS in 32 countries, always at the same
price of 0,15 euro. For Tablet-PC users the Electronic Ink function
has been integrated. Any message can be edited with handwritten
comments and graphic elements.
The multimedia functions of David V8+ have been augmented as well. At
the David InfoCenter an integrated audio player is available for
re-playing mp3 music files. Playlists can be compiled by drag & drop
and the fading takes care of the automatic volume leveling. The new
media player is playing video files in wmv- as well as mpeg-format,
also image files in current formats. Furthermore, freeze images can be
created and edited. Video passages of special interest can be marked
with the so called stream tags and forwarded per eMails subsequently.
It is also possible to manage up to 200 video cameras with David for
office or building security.
