Have you had about enough of Spam? These days, Spam has become a major
nuisance for anybody with an email account. Spammers get your email address
from various sources, including WHOIS records (if you own a domain), HTML
archives of mailing lists, your web page and many other places. They will
email as many people as they can, normally offering products of little or no
interest. Spammers, normally use fake 'From:' addresses (of course, the
spammer doesn't want to be spammed...) and offer a way to be removed from
their mailing list. Naturally this is a big lie, since many spammers buy
CDs (from other spammers) with lists of millions of email addresses. They
have no mechanism at all to remove you from their list.
There are many traditional approaches to avoiding spam. The most common
approach is to block known sender addresses. This works partially, since
many spammers send emails from well known webmail providers, like Yahoo Mail
or Hotmail. Another approach relies on filtering by some special
characteristics normally found on Spam mail (lack of From: line, some common
subjects, etc). Again, this one fails because many Spam mails contain no
detectable elements. AllSpamGone takes an Active approach in solving the
