▄▓█ Orion is a 'virtual' music studio suite for the PC █▓▄
▄▓█ running under Windows 95/98/2000. It recreates all parts █▓▄
▄▓█ of a traditional studio including sequencing, the █▓▄
▓█ emulation of a mixing desk and all wired rackmount █▓

│ Quality │
│ All calculations inside Orion, are done in 32-bit │
│ resolution - twice the resolution of normal CD-Audio. │
│ You can export your songs as WAV files, in 16-bit │
│ resolution, ready for CD - or in 32-bit resolution, │
│ ready for subsequent editing in a different program. If │
│ you want to record your music on DAT, exporting at 48 │
│ kHz is also possible. │

│ Compatibility and Interfaces │
│ Most of the effects you have installed on your machine │
│ now, will be usable in Orion - VST and VST2 effects, │
│ DirectX effects, as well as VST2 synthesizers are │
│ supported. Automation is available for VST2 synthesizers │
│ so knob movements can be recorded and played back in │
│ realtime. VST Effects can be set to receive notes from │
│ any generator. │
│ │

│ MIDI Support │
│ Latency is very short on most computers, which means you │
│ can play Orion from a MIDI keyboard in realtime, just │
│ like you would play any rackmount hardware synthesizer │
│ in a studio. Of course you can record the midi input too │
│ and postprocess it with Quantize and other editing │
│ tools. Orion has two MIDI modes: easy mode, where the │
│ active synthesizer quite simply receives the MIDI input │
│ - and advanced mode, where each generator responds to a │
│ fixed MIDI channel. Additionally you can control Orion's │
│ synthesizers with MIDI control devices such as the │
│ Phatboy or Drehbank, just right-click on any synth knob, │
│ turn the midi wheel and it's linked - easy, huh? │
│ │

│ Mixer │
│ If you've ever worked in a studio, then you know what to │
│ expect from a quality hardware mixer, and the features │
│ of Orion's mixer will match (and surpass) your │
│ expectations. Currently 64 channels are available, and │
│ since most generators use or support stereo channels │
│ it's near impossible getting close to that limit. The │
│ mixer has two effect sends, both of which have variable │
│ send amounts per channel. Additionally, two effects can │
│ be inserted on each channel, and an advanced parametric │
│ 4-band-equalizer (with 7 controls) is available on each │
│ channel. Each channel can be labelled, muted and │
│ solo'ed. │
│ It's just like the real thing, only better! │

│ │
│ Sequencers │
│ Two kinds of sequencers are available in Orion - the │
│ polyphonic piano roll fascilitates writing chords and │
│ melodic pieces. The monophonic step-sequencer is │
│ particularly useful with the built-in bassline │
│ synthesizer, allowing per- step setting of accent and │
│ slide bits. Both sequencer types are velocity-sensitive │
│ and grid, snapping and zooming is available. The grid │
│ can also be configured for other beats like 3/4 etc. │
│ Events (knob movement etc.) can be recorded and edited │
│ within both sequencer types. │
│ │

│ Synthesizers │
│ All of Orion's built-in synthesizers feature: 64 │
│ patterns, variable pattern │
│ length and loading/saving of presets. It is possible to │
│ create "odd-length" │
│ patterns, which will then loop "off beat" - many acid │
│ music freaks will find │
│ this an invaluable (and unique) feature. │
│ │

│ Song Arrangement/Playlist │
│ The Playlist window arranges all patterns from all used │
│ generators to form a song. Patterns can be inserted, │
│ deleted, copied and moved around conveniently. You can │
│ also optionally move song automation data from │
│ generators or mixer channels along with copied blocks. │

│ Performance │
│ Orion is a highly optimized piece of software, which │
│ means that users with a not-so-fast machine, will be │
│ more than able to make music with it. │

│ Additional Features │
│ │
│ Unlimited undo/redo! Editing operations in the piano │
│ roll, playlist & knob tweaks can be undone. Undo levels │
│ are infinite unless undo cache is flushed which happens │
│ e.g. on song loading or when deleting modules. │
│ ACM Support - Orion will load any type of WAV file │
│ supported by your operating system, including │
│ MP3-compressed WAVs. │
│ "Humanize" function adds that "human touch" to your │
│ programmed beats and riffs. │
│ Song information (including a web site link) can be │
│ saved with your song, and can optionally be displayed │
│ when the song is loaded. │
│ MIDI files can be imported. │
│ Samples can optionally be bundled with saved songs. │
│ Easy, full skin support - personalize Orion with your │
│ own graphics. │
│ Import and export FXP and FXB programs and banks, for │
