Formerly all releases of BinPatch were commandline-only versions, but
we added a graphical interface version called Click'n Patch for
Windows 95/NT (CNP) which joined the commandline interface GenPatch.
The CNP is a typical Windows Wizard and Expert combination to serve
your needs.
- Tiny patch technology: Create small patchfiles with high packrates,
usually 20-60% in comparison to other patch tools.
- Safe patch technology: DoPatch program uses almost no memory, tests
patchfiles for damages and then test-applies patches. Modified files
are moved into a backup directory and are not deleted. All releases
are intensively tested with a suite of test-patches before release.
- Multipatch technology: Normally, just update a given source with a
patchfile. With BinPatch you can update several (similar) sources all
at once. For instance, update 1.0a and 1.0b with one and the same
patch, to 1.1.
- Directory patch technology: Patches may update complete directories.
You just specify source(s) and destination and GenPatch autodetects
what files can be patched from what source(s). Renamed and modified
files are no problems, these are handled automatically. Of course,
GenPatch can be used with many directories in Multipatch mode.
- Selfextracting patch technology: BinPatch optionally creates executable
patch files that autofind patch targets on your harddisk and ask users
whether to apply or not. Of course, executable patches may still be
applied by normal DoPatch, so you can apply DOS executable patches
with Linux DoPatch.
