Linux/Unix installation instructions
------------------------------------

1. Run unix/installcd.sh and install FIELDVIEW for Unix with typical settings.
   Select yes to install floating license manager.
   (Installing the FIELDVIEW Servers is optional and not required.)
2. Change the directory where you installed FIELDVIEW, and then to the fv/bin subdirectory.
   Then issue the following command:
   ./fv_server id
3. Copy the provided genlic.bat & genlic.exe files to a PC running Windows (or use Wine).
   Edit genlic.bat and then replace your_hostname with the hostname of your Unix machine &
   your_hostid with the information found in step 2 (leave your_diskserial in, not used on
   Unix) and save the file. Execute the modifed genlic.bat and two license files will be
   generated; license1.dat (floating license) and license2.dat (single license, not used
   on Unix).
4. Change the directory to the fv/data subdirectory.
   Open the following file for edit:
   license.dat
   Enter the information with the floating license (license1.dat found in step 3) and save
   the file.
5. Change the directory to the fv/bin subdirectory.
   Then issue the following command:
   ./fv_server start
   This will start the floating license manager.
6. Launch FIELDVIEW with:
   ./fv
   Enjoy!
