Extreme 4.0 AutoCalc is a plug-in that combines with Extreme 4.0 Basic to
allow you to automatically design hundreds of pages and create a price
list or a catalog based on information in your data file.
"One-Click Production"
With "One-Click Production", everyone can start a production without prior
experience. All settings in AutoCalc can be saved and re-used over and
over again. This means all that needs to be done to start a production is
to select a setting method and click on the "Calc" button. AutoCalc will
now calculate the catalog and automatically notify Extreme 4.0 Basic,
which will subsequently produce the catalog!
Five calculation methods
Different projects require different calculation methods. Extreme 4.0
AutoCalc gives you five different methods to calculate your catalog, price
list or phone book. The following calculation methods are included:
ò Non-Breaking Vertical
ò Non-Breaking Horizontal
ò Non-Breaking Scale Last
ò Breaking
ò Breaking Scale Last
Automatic insertion of fill ads
When AutoCalc calculates your catalog, the page may display fields that
are not being used. These areas can be filled with fill ads.
Commands
By using a command field in your data file, you will be able to link a
module to the next module ("BINDTONEXT"), jump to the next column
("NEXTC") or jump to the next page ("NEXTP"). Every time AutoCalc
encounters one of these commands in the data file, the command is
executed.
Methods to break modules
When doing price list productions, you will often be creating modules that
must be broken into multiple pages. By using the "Breaking" methods, the
modules are selected in order to fit the page and modules that do not fit
the page will be broken into multiple less linked modules.
Full control over broken module headers
The "Ex. Height" value allows you to add extra height to a module when it
is broken into multiple modules.
Full control over minimum module height
Frequently you will want to make sure that you do not select a module that
is too small, so that the space for images will be too small. By using the
"Min. Item" function, you can specify how small the smallest module may
be.
