█▓ Bibble is a program primarily designed to Read Nikone D1 raw .nef ▓█
█▓ files, Jpegs and Tiffs and convert them to either 16 Bit tiff ▓█
█▓ files, or 8 bit Jpegs. ▓█

█▓ I love my Nikon D1, but felt the hefty chunk of change I already ▓█
█▓ laid out for it was enough, and didn't want to incur the add iona ▓█
█▓ expense of the capture software. With that in mind I set out to ▓█
█▓ create simple to use program for aquiring and tweaking the images. ▓█
█▓ Over time, bibble has grown quite a bit and turned into a powerful ▓█
█▓ tool for working with files from the D1. ▓█
█▓ ▓█
█▓ The D1 Is an amazing camera, and while it generates great results ▓█
█▓ with its 8 bit files, the amounf of detail in the 12 bit files is ▓█
█▓ amazing. using Bibble you not only have the ability to gain more ▓█
█▓ accurate color, but also increased detail in both the highlights ▓█
█▓ and shadows in your images. Also, by using Bibble's custom ▓█
█▓ conversion options, you can even take a poorly exposed or blown ▓█
█▓ shot, and make a good looking file out of it. ▓█
█▓ ▓█
█▓ All color calculations are done internally in 16-Bit precision and ▓█
█▓ thus any image manipulations done on an image using Bibble will ▓█
█▓ have superior results to those performed in a standard 8 image ▓█
█▓ program. Additionally, you can save your pictures as 16 bit tiff ▓█
█▓ files in order to get those superior resutls into the next part of ▓█
█▓ your image processing chain. You can also do this with confidence ▓█
█▓ as bibbles files support ICC and thus all your work in bibble ▓█
█▓ makes its way downstrem. ▓█
█▓ ▓█
█▓ Bibble can also be used to rapidly browse thumbnails of images ▓█
█▓ from your camera. Bibble lighting fast thumbnailer will show all ▓█
█▓ files straight from the camera instantly. Other files not from the ▓█
█▓ camera will be thumbnailed in the background so as not to slow ▓█
█▓ your work down. ▓█
█▓ ▓█
█▓ Additionally Bibble Supports EXIF shooting data in your files. If ▓█
█▓ shooting data is present, it will be displayed when you open the ▓█
█▓ file. Even better, it will be saved with your modified files! As ▓█
█▓ of now, *most* exif and nikon specific tags are read and displayed ▓█
█▓ including ones not availble in nikons programs (AutoFocus mode), ▓█
█▓ Some however I Still haven't managed to decode, and these will not ▓█
█▓ preserved. If this cause any issues in other programs, let me know ▓█

█▓ Batch processing is another of bibbles strengths. merely point it ▓█
█▓ to the directory with your nefs, and another directory for the ▓█
█▓ output, and in a fair amount of time, you will have them all ▓█
█▓ converted to either jpegs or tiffs. ▓█

█▓ Bibble features many advanced optins to control how your nef files ▓█
█▓ are converted. Using the default options bibble will generate ▓█
█▓ great pictures with awesome color and stauration. If however you ▓█
█▓ prefer "flatter" more realistic pictures, you can easilty tweak ▓█
█▓ bibble options to give you just that. By using bibble Color ▓█
█▓ correction feature you will get perfectly calibrated colors ▓█
█▓ everytime. Tone compensation is also an option generate well ▓█
█▓ exposed pictures. ▓█

█▓ And lastly, bibble may also be used as a plugin for photoshop. As ▓█
█▓ long as bibbles plugin file (bibbleformat.8bi) has been copied to ▓█
█▓ your photoshop plugins directory (in the format subdirectory), ▓█
