Ontrack PowerControls is a simple, yet powerful tool for copying,
searching, recovering and analyzing data directly from
Microsoft Exchange Server backups, un-mounted databases (EDB) and
Information Store files. With nearly 20 years of data recovery
experience, Ontrack designed PowerControls to help storage managers and
email, network and help desk administrators better serve their
internal clients.

significant headaches normally associated with Exchange recovery,
restoration and research.
RECOVER - PowerControls allows you to recover lost, deleted and
archived mailbox items quickly and directly from an un-mounted Exchange
information store file (EDB file) or PST file, without performing
time-consuming, expensive single mailbox ("brick-level") backups.
RESTORE - Use any previous full backup to easily restore individual
mailboxes, folders, messages, attachments and more directly to your
production Exchange server or any PST file.
RESEARCH - The true power of PowerControls is found in its highly
efficient search capabilities. Find that one, specific email message
that you've been looking for or research entire conversations using the
flexible Message Views tool. PowerControls allows you to set precise
search criteria and run detailed queries across multiple data sources,
selecting any combination of mailboxes or folders you wish to search,
regardless of the source data store.
RELAX - With PowerControls, the bottom line is that you will save
precious time and money. Slash email restoration times, eliminate the
burden of brick-level backups, rescue lost messages with minimal
effort, and perform powerfully precise searches all with
one software product.
Working with your existing Exchange backup architecture and procedures,
PowerControls does not need to be pre-installed prior to its first use,
and supports the entire contents of the information store and all
Exchange disk and tape backup types including snapshot, offline,
online, incremental, differential, and copy. No need to recreate the
original backup environment, or change existing backup procedures.
New Version 4.1 Features:
-------------------------
The Message Views tool allows administrators to organize archived
email messages using one of three custom views. Conversation View
produces a histogram of all replies and forwards to a given message.
Message Table View allows the user to see all folders that reference
a single message; and Attachment Table View shows all messages that
reference a single attachment.
PowerControls 4.1 also introduces a new add-on Agent for
Content Analysis, which allows the Administrator to create
customized, personal data stores to perform search and analysis
operations on multiple data sources at one time.

Three ExtractWizard Agents have been upgraded for version 4.1.
ExtractWizards for Symantec BackupExec 10.1, Veritas NetBackup 6.0
and ARCSserve 11.5 are now all supported in both
Direct and Advanced modes.

Note: PowerControls is designed to run on a Windows workstation and uses
native Microsoft Messaging APIs (MAPI) to communicate to the
Exchange Server, ensuring reliable and consistent operation of your
server. Outlook must be installed and configured on the workstation to
connect to an Exchange server for MAPI to initialize properly.
PowerControls is not designed to run from an Exchange Server.

150 MB of free hard disk space for installation (more disk space
will be needed for processing log files when opening an EDB file)
