So you've just bought a CD recorder for your PC and are looking forward
to recording your old cassettes and vinyl onto CD. But, you don't want to
record the hum, hiss, clicks, and rumble that go with those soon-to-be-extinct
media. Groove Mechanic lets you significantly improve the quality of the music
on your old vinyl records and cassette tapes while getting them ready to
record to a CD. It doesn't actually perform the CD writing but does enable you
to capture the audio from LPs, tapes, or other sources into audio files. Functions
help you to analyze the quality of the sound; remove clicks and pops; get rid of
broadband noise; filter the "rumble" in both old and new LPs; and work on an entire
album side at a time, then split it into individual tracks. Output is in standard .wav
format, which is accepted by nearly all CD-recording software.
