In combination with Catalog Extreme 4.0 Basic, the Update plug-in allows
you to update the document after you have created it. You can use this
feature to update prices in your document and e.g. insert multiple
languages in the document.
Unique Tag Data
When Catalog Extreme produces your ad, brochure or catalog, unique tag
data will automatically be added to each item, e.g. a text field. These
data are usually hidden, but you can view them by using the integrated
ôShow Item Tagö feature in Catalog Extreme 4.0 Basic or by installing
Catalog Extreme 4.0 Tag Utility.
Updating text data in your document
During the update, the Update plug-in will read tag data from each
individual object and compare these tag data with your text file. If these
data are identified, the stylistic code of the text content will be read,
new text will be inserted, and the stylistic code will be applied.
Selecting update fields
The Extreme Preferences menu allows you to add limitations in terms of
which text fields will be updated.
Catalog Extreme Tag Utillity
Tag Utility is an extra palette that allows you to modify tag data that
are applied to items.
Lock and unlock objects or entire layers
Tag Utility allows you to lock or unlock all objects in a selected layer
or on one or more objects.
Automatic tag data with count
You can apply tag data to one or more selected objects with automatic
suffixes.
If you select multiple objects that should all be given a tag start of
e.g. ô100ö, Tag Utility can be set to add ô-A-ô, ô-B-ô, etc.
