█ CMail Server is a POP3 and SMTP email server designed for Windows █
█ 95,98 and Windows NT. Allowing client connections from a wide range █
█ of platforms including PC's, Macintosh and Acorn computers, CMail can █
█ be installed quickly and easily on a Local Area Network to provide █
█ access to both internal and external email in the shortest time █
█ possible. █

█ CMail provides all the functionality of UNIX based mail servers but █
█ takes advantage of the point and click Windows environment to make █
█ configuration simple and provide 'at a glance' information on the █
█ state of the server, mail queues etc, making the software user █
█ friendly and negating the need for an individual with extensive █

█ Virus Control allows CMail Server to scan messages and attachments █
█ for the presence of viruses using the most popular virus scanning █
█ engines including F-Prot, McAfee and Norton AV. If a virus is █

█ The Administrator can also be informed and visual alerts raised. █

█ CMail will scan messages for the presence of undesirable words or █

█ CMail 2.4 features an enhanced Web Interface mail client that █
█ includes the addition of public and private address books. Users can █
█ send and receive email and attachments through a web browser without █
█ the need for an additional mail program such as Outlook. The █

█ basis including the ability to send external email, attachments etc. █

█ Collection via POP3 █
█ CMail can collect mail from the Internet using either the SMTP or █
█ POP3 protocol. Collecting using the traditional SMTP method requires █
█ a static IP address and that your server be connected to the Internet █
█ when your ISP's mail server attempts to you. With POP3, your Internet █
█ Service Provider can forward all mail to a single POP3 account from █
█ which, CMail will collect mail as if it were a standard mail client █
█ and then sort mail ready for collection by users on the LAN. █

█ MX Resolution █
█ MX resolution is where CMail interrogates a DNS server to enquire █
█ which mail server on the Internet handles the mail for the domain you █
█ are attempting to send email to. Once it has received the necessary █
█ information from the DNS server, CMail will connect to the remote █
█ mail server and send the mail. This process makes CMail completely █
█ independent of an upstream SMTP mail server. █

█ Anti-Spam Features █
█ CMail Server incorporates Anti-Spam filtering which prevents █
█ unauthorised users from sending large quantities of junk email █
█ through CMail. With Spam filtering enabled, CMail will reject a spam █
█ message before processing the body of the message to save system █
█ resources. █

█ NT Users Database Integration █
█ CMail has the ability to 'import' users directly from the Users █
█ Database when installed under Window NT 4. When a user logs into the █
█ system, the username supplied will be checked against the NT database █
█ and if matched, the user will be allowed access. Should a user log in █
█ with a valid NT username and password but an account doesn't exist on █
█ CMail, a mailbox will automatically be generated for the user. █

█ Mail Queue Administration █
█ An advanced queue administration tool allows the manipulation of █
█ messages stored in both the internal and external mail queues. █
█ Messages contained within these queues can be displayed, deleted and █
█ sent manually. The days of the week and the time periods at which █
█ CMail can exchange mail can also be set within this menu. █

█ Mail Batching █
█ Mail sent to CMail can be batched together and stored in the outbound █
█ mail queue. When an Internet connection is established, CMail will █
█ send all of the queued mail in job-lot as opposed to establishing an █
█ Internet connection each time it receives a message. This option can █
█ be turned off for those with permanent connections. █
█ █
█ Integration with Windows RAS █
█ CMail will integrate seamlessly with the Windows Remote Access (RAS) █
█ subsystem meaning that once you have setup a dial-up networking █
█ connection, that connection can be imported and used by CMail Server. █
█ Connections can also be established by using a router/LAN connection █
█ or Computalynx SCM. █

█ Moderated Mailing Lists █
█ Mailing lists allow mail to be sent to users subscribed to a list in █
█ with one email instead of having to mail everyone separately. Mailing █
█ lists can be moderated by a user so that any mail sent to the list in █
█ question is first routed to the moderator and then only distributed █
█ to the list should the moderator agree with the content. █
