BRÆs PhotoArchiver is an image database that helps you index
your image-files. You can import whole directories of
pictures, including all sub-directories. Each picture will be
assigned an unique id when imported. Later you can add
annotations for the photos. You can enter when and where the
picture was taken and a general description. You can also
define your own data fields. There are some very powerful
functions that allows you to enter the description very fast.
Every word in the description fields will be indexed for fast
retrieval. You can search by single words, combination of
words or wildcards.
When you add pictures, only a reference to the image will be
added. The image will still be stored in it's original
directory. This means that you can edit/enhance your image
with your favourite image-editor and the change will affect
the image in the PhotoArchiver.
BRÆs PhotoArchiver can read 16 different image file formats.
BRÆs PhotoArchiver can also show EXIF information stored in
JPEG files by digital cameras.
The PhotoArchiver is very compact and will make a small
footprint on your system. It is also fast. I developed the
first version of the PhotoArchiver (text only) on an 1 MHz
8bit system almost 20 years ago. It was fast enough for that
system so you can imagine what it will do on a 500MHz system.
