▒ Quantum MechanicT Pro is designed to clean-up color noise and ▒
▒ artifacts in color photo- graphs. Although Quantum MechanicT Pro was ▒
▒ originally designed for digital camera images, it works equally well ▒
▒ at removing color noise from film scans. Even though it isn't always ▒
▒ immediately obvious, many digital cameras images contain significant ▒
▒ amounts of color noise. This color noise is often times most ▒
▒ noticeable in the blue channel of an image, and sometimes also in the ▒
▒ red channel. Normally the green channel has the least amount of noise ▒
▒ and therefore is the cleanest. One way to quickly see how much color ▒
▒ noise there is in an image is to toggle between the blue and green ▒
▒ channels in Photoshop by using the Command 3 (show blue channel) and ▒
▒ Command 2 (show green channel) key- board commands in alternation. If ▒
▒ the blue channel is noticeably noisier than the green channel, then ▒
▒ your image has color noise and Quantum MechanicT Pro will make the ▒
▒ blue channel look as good as the green channel. And although this ▒
▒ color noise may not be apparent at capture, it will certainly get ▒
▒ worse as you proceed through the resizing and sharpening stages of ▒
▒ the image production process. Color noise can also produce unwanted ▒
▒ effects when measuring color for sampling or masking operations in ▒
▒ Photoshop. Therefore, every color photograph that has even slight ▒
▒ color noise will benefit in the end by removing this noise up-front ▒
