AudioCD MP3 Studio Suite has one illustrious predecessor from Ashampoo:
AudioCD MP3 Studio 2000.
It continues with all the advantages of this legendary award-winning
MP3 and audio CD editing and CD recording program, and adds a number of
exciting new features, making this the best computer audio application
that Ashampoo has ever produced!
There are actually too many changes and improvements in AudioCD MP3
Studio Suite to list here. This list only includes the major
improvements:
Split screen with integrated Drives and Tracks Navigator:
Managing your audio files and projects is now easier than ever before.
The new Drives and Track Navigator on the left side of the screen is
modeled on the Windows Explorer for intuitive operation. It enables you
to navigate your hard disks to find your audio files and add them to
your projects in record time, using Drag & Drop, double-click or the
menu and toolbar commands. Or you can just drag files into the
application from the Windows Explorer.
MP3 AutoChecking:
There are many different sources for MP3 tracks and it's quite common
to find tracks that are damaged, corrupt or produced with poor or
outdated software or tools. The new MP3 AutoChecking feature in AudioCD
MP3 Studio Suite automatically performs a thorough check on every MP3
track you add to your projects. If your tracks pass this test you can
burn them to CD with confidence.
Local saving of your CDDB« track and album info:
When you obtain online track and album info for your audio CDs from the
Gracenote CDDB« database the data is now automatically stored on your
hard disk. The next time you insert the same CD the data is displayed
automatically; you don't need to go online again.
ID3 tag editing for MP3 tracks:
The Title, Artist, Album and other track details in your MP3 files are
all stored in a special data header at the beginning of the file in
what are known as "ID3 tags". All the Properties functions of AudioCD
MP3 Studio Suite now display and allow you to edit the ID3 tag
information. This information is automatically stored with the MP3
tracks and displayed by all MP3 players that support this function. The
track details you obtain with the CDDB function are also automatically
written to the ID3 tags in the MP3 tracks.
ID3 tag information in WAV files:
AudioCD MP3 Studio Suite doesn't only store the ID3 tag information in
MP3 files. The new version now also stores the Title, Artist and Album
details with WAV files and displays them automatically when you add
these files to an Audsi playlist. (This function only works with WAV
files generated with AudioCD MP3 Studio Suite. These files are fully
compatible with all other audio applications.)

AudioCD MP3 Studio Suite is probably one of the most intuitive programs
you've ever seen. It's like riding a bicycle - once you've used it a
couple of times you never forget how. We've put a great amount of
effort into making everything this simple, and we think you're going

What's cool:
Integrated ASPI driver for Windows NT4, 2000 and XP:
ASPI is a special software interface that many modern applications need
to access CD-ROM drives and CD recorders efficiently. AudioCD MP3
Studio Suite includes our own integrated ASPI driver. This eliminates
the need to install third-party ASPI drivers on Windows« NT4, 2000 and
XP systems, which do not include the necessary drivers out of the box.
Generate MP3 tracks directly from CDs and WAV files:
AudioCD MP3 Studio Suite comes with a powerful MP3 encoder that can
generate compact MP3 files directly from audio CDs and WAV files. You
can convert an entire audio CD into MP3 tracks in one easy operation!
Outstanding integrated audio CD and MP3 player:
AudioCD MP3 Studio Suite can be used as a music jukebox, with all the
familiar functions you expect from a computer CD and MP3 player.
Support for WinAmp«-format .M3U playlists:
AudioCD MP3 Studio Suite imports, plays and exports playlists in the
standard WinAmp« .M3U format that is now used by most computer audio
applications. You can turn your existing .M3U playlists into audio CDs
with just a couple of mouse clicks, and export your AudioCD MP3 Studio
Suite playlists to .M3U playlists and play them with any of the many
leading audio applications that support this standard format. And since
you can also import and edit .M3U playlists you can even use this
format for storing all your MP3 Studio projects if you want.
Copy audio CDs:
Make perfect backup copies of your audio CDs in just a couple of easy
steps. For maximum flexibility, the temporary files created during the
copy process are stored as a project that you can use to make
additional copies or as the basis for a new playlist. Or you can just
delete them - it's up to you.
Support for Disk-at-Once mode recording:
AudioCD MP3 Studio Suite can record in DAO (disc-at-once) mode to
eliminate the two-second gaps generated between tracks in the standard
TAO (track-at-once) mode.
Support for 700MB/80 minute CD media:
Recordable CD media with space for 700MB of data or 80 minutes of music
are now the CD recording standard. AudioCD MP3 Studio Suite makes full
use of the additional capacity of these new CD media.
Advanced Gracenote CDDB« support:
The program includes the latest version of the Gracenote CDDB« online
database system for obtaining album and track info for your audio CDs
via the Internet. Accessing the database to read in track information
of registered audio CDs is now easier and smoother than ever before.
Error handling for corrupt and damaged MP3 files:
In addition to the new MP3 AutoChecking feature function AudioCD MP3
Studio Suite also features advanced error handling for corrupt and
damaged MP3 files. This makes it possible for you to produce usable
audio CD tracks from many more MP3 files than with other applications,
which is very useful for unique, irreplaceable files. (You may
experience brief pauses in the resulting tracks if the MP3 files
contain large blocks of corrupt data.)
Automatic screen saver deactivation during recording:
With AudioCD MP3 Studio Suite you never need to worry about recording
being interrupted by your screen saver - the program automatically
deactivates the screen saver during recording and reactivates it again
afterwards. This is done dynamically, without writing any information
to the Windows registry, so that your screen saver settings will remain
unchanged even if another program causes Windows to crash or hang while
you are recording.
