How does Spam Shredder protect your email inbox from spam?
For immediate spam relief, Spam Shredder instantly detects and configures
Outlook, Outlook Express and Eudora email accounts. It works with other POP3
mail clients, but is not currently available for web-based email accounts. Spam
Shredder's intelligent learning engine reduces the time users need to spend
sorting through messages by gathering knowledge each time a subscriber decides

users can instantly add contacts to the Whitelist. Spam Shredder instantly
quarantines suspected spam before it reaches a subscriber's inbox. Messages can
be automatically deleted or safely held in quarantine for later review. Regular
updates to the spam threat database are available to protect you from the latest
spam tactics as they emerge. Easy-to-use controls allow you to specify your
desired level of protection, and the size and type of messages to scan.

Spammers use a number of methods to discover email addresses, and you are at
risk of receiving increasing amounts of spam if:
You use the Internet for any period of time. Spammers have developed methods to
identify email addresses associated with Internet-connected computers. You

You use Internet bulletin boards or post to UseNet newsgroups using your email

You decide whether suspect emails should be deleted automatically or if they
should be held in quarantine for later review and action, and tell the software
how aggressively to pursue spam using the spam tolerance slider.
Access to Updated Databases
As new spam originators are identified, Webroot adds them to the anti-spam
database and offers you the opportunity to update your Spam Shredder database
for the most thorough protection available.
