INTRODUCTION
------------
Qualcomm claims that you will not be able to use the Eudora Pro 4.x.x updater
unless you have a previous version of Eudora Pro 4.x.x on your system. But as
a matter of fact the free Eudora Pro 4.x.x updaters are complete installation
packages which can easily be modified to do a full install. Version 4.2.2
even includes the complete 300 page manual in Adobe Acrobat Reader format.
A number of patches are already available on the net which will let you do a
full install of Eudora Pro 4.x.x using the updater, but the use of these
patches is rather clumsy measured by current standards. The included utility
EUD4FULL.EXE aims to provide a much more convenient way to install the full
version of Eudora Pro 4.x.x and is not limited to any particular version of
the updater. Using this utility you can either do a clean install of Eudora
Pro 4.x.x or upgrade any existing version of Eudora on your system.

INSTRUCTIONS
------------
1. Download a copy of the Eudora Pro 4.x.x updater if you haven't already
done so. Refer to the top of this document for the URL's. Since this is
a large download, it is recommended that you select a site near you, and
avoid the main Qualcomm site which tends to be busy.
2. Run the Eudora Pro upgrade converter EUD4FULL.EXE. A messagebox will
come up notifying you that you can now do a full install using the
Eudora Pro 4.x.x updater. Press Ok to confirm that you are ready to
install. The upgrade converter will minimize itself to an icon on the
taskbar to show that it is running. Do not close the upgrade converter,
just leave it running.
3. Run the Eudora Pro 4.x.x updater to install the full program.

ADDITIONAL NOTES
----------------
* There is no need to close the Eudora Pro Upgrade converter, since it
will close itself as soon as it has finished modifying the upgrade
installer.
* The Eudora Pro upgrade converter was primarily designed to work with the
Eudora Pro 4.2.2 updater, but it will also work with earlier versions of
the 4.x.x updater. It should also work with later versions of the 4.x.x
updater, but even if it doesn't, you can still use EUD4FULL.EXE to
install a full copy of Eudora Pro 4.2.2 which may then be updated to a
later version when available.
* It is possible that versions of the Eudora Pro 4.x.x updater later than
4.2.2 do not include the full set of manuals in Adobe Acrobat Reader
format. If a later version of the updater does not include the manuals,
but you do want them, then you can download the latest set of manuals
separately from:

as well as from the Eudora mirror sites.
