Release Notes:
EdgeCAM Part Modeler provides users with a modeling tool specifically
for simple part construction, manufacturing modifications,
and fixture building.
"Many of our users have a need to modify customer's parts,
to enable manufacture," says Brian Steatham,
Managing Director of Pathtrace.
"These modifications are often minor, and the power and complexity
available in design solutions provided by mainstream solid CAD
producers is simply not needed. EdgeCAM Part Modeler is a perfect
solution for users of CAM software who have a need to construct
or visualize workholding systems, such as turning chucks or milling
jigs and fixtures," continues Mr. Steatham.
EdgeCAM Part Modeler enables quick and simple construction or
editing of 3D solid models. It benefits manufacturing engineers
by providing a cost effective and immediate solid CAD facility,
complete with fully associative drafting capability.
EdgeCAM Part Modeler can quickly create solid parts and perform
Boolean operations to generate mold cores, cavities and EDM electrodes
as well as jigs and fixtures. Coupled with EdgeCAM Solid Machinist,
EdgeCAM Part Modeler provides a complete solid-based CAD/CAM solution
with true solid-based machining with Automatic Feature Recognition
and full Part-To-Toolpath Associativity.
Procedural Modeling
Part Modeler has the ability to execute a series of logically
grouped feature construction steps as a single keystroke.
The procedures can be driven by design and manufacturing rules that can
be executed simultaneously across multiple parts of an assembly
with automatic part-to-part association.
Drafting
EdgeCAM Part Modeler provides the user with a fully associative drafting tool.
Features include:

ò Display modes: Wire frame, Shaded, Hidden Line and Hidden Line Removed
ò Isometric, Plan and Orthogonal Views
ò Standard and Ordinate Dimensioning
