close any DC3000 programs
go to the arcsoft dirctory it should be in C:/program files/arcsoft/showbiz 2 and open the file " hp quickdvd.ini " in notpad. there you will
see what we all have been looking for in the line where it says protection = 1 change the 1 to 0 ,I also set protectioncount to 0. You can tweak
the siginal count here also. This is the seting for how long it delays for a signal after you press the transfer button. Try 5 instead of 13.
and there you have it.
it should look like this
[sample themes]
theme1.abm:=:Image Scapes
theme2.abm:=:Fun and Adventure
theme3.abm:=:Occasions
theme4.abm:=:Pure Color
[Capture]
Limit FileSize=3800
ProtectOn=0
ProtectCount=0
SignalOn=1
SignalCount=13
SupportWMV=0

This is a great movie making device and now it's even better.
We all have VHS movies we want to dub on to DVD and we should not have to buy it on dvd if we already own it on VHS.
I don't think HP wanted to include this protection but was forced to,
Happy Movie Writing.
