│ Mabry Software, one of the first vendors of Internet components for │
│ Visual Basic, is now offering Internet components for Microsoft's │
│ .Net platform. Following the approach which resulted in receiving │
│ awards from Fawcette Technical Publications for the last four │
│ consecutive years, the new /Net internet components provide │
│ functionality and ease of use unmatched by other vendors. │
│ │
│ News/Net fully implements Microsoft .Net's synchronous and │
│ asynchronous programming models; all methods which may take some │
│ time to execute have both synchronous and asynchronous versions. │
│ Take, for example, the issue of retrieving a list of all the │
│ newsgroups a server supports. Some news servers provide tens of │
│ thousands of newsgroups and downloading the list can take quite a │
│ long time. One way to handle that situation is to start a thread to │
│ execute the GetGroups method. However, it is also possible to use │
│ the asynchronous BeginGetGroups method that spares you having to │
│ start a thread and deal with thread-termination issues. In either │
│ case the GroupReceived event is fired as groups are received, so you │
│ can update the UI as the download progresses. │
│ │
│ News/Net also includes Mabry's Mime/Net - providing a complete MIME │
│ message handling capability. Mime/Net parses messages on the fly as │
│ they are received - there is no delay between receiving a message │
│ and being able to access it or any of its attachments. Mime/Net also │
│ encodes binary attacments as they are being transmitted, thus │
│ avoiding lengthy delays that are encountered with components that │
│ require that you encode attachments prior to transmission. Mime/Net │
│ provides the easiest to use access to parts, which may have nested │
│ parts, of any MIME component you will find. │
│ │
│ When you buy News/Net you get a complete set of news components │
│ designed especially for the .Net framework. Compare News/Net with │
│ the offerings of other vendors and you will see that Mabry's │
│ News/Net is the best solution available. │
