FabFilter One is a powerful synthesizer plug-in for Windows
and Mac OS X with the best possible sound and filter quality.
Best cut-off filter
We have put tremendous effort in creating the best cut-off
filter ever. Our new design approach has resulted in the
fattest and smoothest self-oscillating digital filter you have
ever heard. It has been tuned carefully to achieve the
character and warmth of a classic analog synthesizer.
FabFilter One's filter sounds raw but never cheap or
'digital', even at full resonance. Filter keyboard tracking is
available.
Great oscillator
For FabFilter One, we have developed a pure, solid-sounding
oscillator from scratch. It is completely aliasing-free and
features triangle, sawtooth, square, and noise wave forms.
There are various pulse width modulation options and it's also
possible to mix additional white or pink noise into the
signal, which is great for percussive sounds.
Extensive modulation options
You can easily modulate frequency, filter cut-off, and pulse
width by the envelope generator and the modulation generator.
The envelope generator signal can be inverted and the
modulation generator features triangle and square wave forms
with adjustable balance for maximum flexibility. The
modulation generator can be synchronized to the host tempo and
song position, and you can also modulate the volume and filter
cut-off by keyboard velocity.
Polyphony
The new 10-voice polyphony mode in FabFilter One version 3
provides many new great sounds and possibilities. The previous
monophonic mode is still available to create the lead
instruments and sound effects that FabFilter One is famous
for.
Smoothest portamento
Most synthesizers just slide from one note to another without
giving it another thought. We understand that good portamento
is one of those things that give your play just that little
bit extra. Good portamento is magic. So we have fine-tuned it
until perfection. Our portamento even works in polyphonic mode
to play sliding chords.
Smart Parameter Interpolation
Changes to any of FabFilter One's parameters are interpolated
by smart algorithms, ensuring both responsiveness and smooth
transitions. There are no annoying digital clicks and zipper
effects, and even MIDI controller changes are handled
perfectly smooth.
Straightforward user interface
The user interface is simple, modern, and easy to use. The
knobs are large and can be dragged up and down as well as
turned around for precise adjustments. You can tweak and tune
your sounds to your hearts' content without having to hunt for
impossible little knobs and sliders.
Platform-independent presets
FabFilter One comes with a standard set of dozens of great
sounds and enables you to create and save your own presets.
You can share your sounds with other FabFilter One users and
the preset files are the same on both Mac OS X and Windows.
Sample accuracy and high sample rates
Naturally, the FabFilter One plug-in handles all parameter
changes at sample accuracy and it can be used with arbitrary
sample rates. All parameters are fully automatable within your
favorite host and with MIDI controller messages as documented
in the help file. Altivec and SSE optimization ensures the
plug-in uses as little processing time as possible without
compromising sound quality.
Extensive support
The included help file describes all features of the FabFilter
One in detail, together with overviews and tutorials to create
various types of sounds. The online support section provides
the latest updates, a great discussion forum and access to
technical support.
For Windows and Mac OS X
FabFilter One is available for both Mac OS X and Windows. On
OS X, both Audio Units and VST are supported. On Windows, VST
is supported, and there is also a stand-alone version
(requires DirectX and a MIDI keyboard).
FabFilter One is compatible with Mac OS X 10.3 (Panther) and
Windows XP/2000/98/Me/2003.

Added parameter value display and Shift-drag knob fine
tuning.
Fixed bug that caused a crash when saving a preset outside the
preset library (for example on the desktop).
Fixed license verification problems when running on Receptor.
Changed the OS X installers to install the plug-in in the
global Library plug-in folder instead of the users Library
plug-in folder. When installing this new version, the old
version will be deleted from the user library.
The plugin now uses VST version 2.4 and AudioUnits version
1.4.3.
