pdfFactory Enterprise Edition (PFE) is a version of pdfFactory
specially designed for use in a network environment. PFE offers
an ideal way to provide pdfFactorys advanced printing
capabilities to users on a network.
pdfFactory Enterprise Edition has the following features:
Centralized Installation. Install PFE once on a file server, and
any user with access to the file server can use pdfFactory simply
by connecting to a shared printer.
Centralized Updates. When a new version of PFE becomes available,
you simply install it on the server. Client users are
automatically updated to the new version. Network Client Support.
PFE supports clients running Windows 95, 98, NT and 2000.
Installation is simple, using the standard Windows "Point and
Print" technique for accessing shared network printers.
Security. PFE fully supports Windows NT security, so you can
choose which users have access to pdfFactory. Unlike the standard
version of pdfFactory, PFE does not require administrative
privileges under NT/2000 (except for installation and
uninstallation on the server).
PDF files are used to represent printed material electronically.
When viewed and printed, they contain all the fonts, graphical
information, layout and formatting of an original printed
document. A PDF file can be viewed and printed on any operating
system including MacOS, and all Unix variants including Linux
with the free Adobe Acrobat Reader.
pdfFactory is the first PDF creation tool designed for non-expert
users. With pdfFactory, anyone can create PDF documents that can
be published on web sites, emailed or archived.
