NOTE: We dunno what the hell guys from Design Data are doing with
versions, but in this release some files are newer than in previous
release which was more than one year ago (032402 SDS2_V6.322-LND) in spite
of version is smaller.
Design Data and the SDS/2 Detailing Module has set the standard for
Detailing systems around the world. Through two decades of development,
Design Data has consistently introduced breakthrough technology to the
steel industry. Design Data had the first product to:
Automatically Design Connections
Use framing plan approach to detailing
Utilize a true 3D Model to produce details
Multi-user capabilities with one model
Multi-site capabilities with one model
Directly support automated shop equipment
Download engineering data into detailing system
Sequencing, piecemarking revisions, the list goes on...
Using a 3D model, SDS/2 has the built-in intelligence to automatically
design the connections for beams, columns, bracing and joist. Once the
model is entered or downloaded, the connections are designed based off of
an extensive setup that allows each customer to get the material, edge
distance, and details desired. After the connections are designed, the
user can model all the minor pieces of steel (ladders, handrails, hoppers,
bins, checkered plate, etc.) interactively or using parametric design. The
time spent to create the 3D model with all the relevant steel information
is phenomenal. SDS/2 calculates all the geometry, setbacks, end preps,
lengths, bolts, etc... you will need. Everyone in your company can use
this 3D database to obtain the information they need.
After the model is complete, automatic detailing will create the most
complete set of 2D drawings available in the industry. All of the major
members (beams, columns, bracing, miscellaneous), all of the minor
material (plates, angles, templates), all of the erection drawings (plan,
elevation and isometric) are automatically created by SDS/2. The 2D
drawings taken from the model result in a fit in the field, again and
again.
While the job is in progress, it is very easy to view the status of any
jobs. Various stages of design, detailing, fabrication and erection are
stored within the model. Simply view the status criteria you wish to view
and the model changes color to reflect the status of those members.
NOTE: We have ripped PostScript manual (you still have PDF version in
"pdf" directory) and some video trainings from original CDs. If you wanna
use it - use ISO from MaGE.

Note that only server install requires license and it would asks for
it during installation process. Run server installation. Generate a
license with our keygen using machine name displayed during
installation and any MAC address, point setup to this license file.
After install you'll have control panel applet which displays MAC
address of PC network card. You have two choices: re-generate the
license with obtained MAC address and replace license file or open
license file with any text editor (kinda notepad) and change it
directly in file by hands (note that it's dangerous to change anything
except MAC address in license file, it can cause not-working
license)..
