Discotheque Sound System is an audio player extremly performant
created for real time song mixing with a computer help. The program
was special developed to use and experiment DJ's technics without
turntables and with a small buget. After reading this manual, everyone
will understand and apply advanced sound mixing technics. We will
present now some facilities of the program (detailed in the next
chapters).
Rhythm mixing present in almost all respectable discoes and clubs,
seems to you to dificile to realize or expensive because of the
specialized equipment (prices of thousands of dollars)?
With this program you have at hand all you need to make rhythm
mixing even much better, and to help the user, almost all functions
are automated. The program calculates song's rhythm (BPM) and saves it
for future utilization. Both songs rhythms are automatic sincronized
and finaly the beats are superposed perfectly to create quality
beat-matching. All these can be made automatic, by pressing only a
button. Certainly, the user has the control all the time, making
automatic only a few steps or none.
The program has advanced preview functions: when a song is playing
in master (speakers) the user can listen in headphones the next song
or any other one, and he can change different parameters before
sending it through audition. Also in a perfect sincronization you can
listen at the same time in headphones the song that is playing in
speakers and the next song, to listen how the 2 songs are superposed.
There are available real time functions for sound modification. A
dual equalizer on 12 bands covering all audio frequenties spectrum,
allowes changes for any song. Equalizer has kill functions - it can
eliminate the bass, midlle and high frequenties almost perfect from
any song. For example, if you want to keep only the rhythm a simple
mouse click and it's solved. There is a powerfull real time effect
block that can apply the desired effect to the sound. The song's
pitch(speed) can be also changed using after the slow reset or
suddenly reset, bend functions and pitch-mixing. All program modules
run in real time and have settings that can be loaded, changed and
saved.
The Playlist has advanced ways of work like real time search: when
you write the name of a song the pointer will automaticly move to the
closest match.
A song browser will help you to look on disks for the audio files,
to add in playlist, to delete them physicaly or logicaly, to copy them
etc. If the song's TAG is filled then this will be showen in browser.
Extremely important in many situations, you will be convinced by that.
The real time grafics give you information all the time about the
audio signal: a spectrum analyzer, an oscilloscope and 2 VU-meters.
These are only a part of facilities, witch you will see, can be
combined between them, like you want, being all very flexible in
utilization.
