Pad is the first text editor, that includes a word processing feature
and an image viewer. The word processor enables you to read and write
RTF formated documents. The image viewer supports the most popular
image formats and the text editor loads as much and as big files as
your memory permits. Use the text and Rich Text Format (RTF) editor
feature to design web sites write letters, edit text, alter source
code or simply view files. Whatever you do, Pad has the features that
suits every need: reformat lines, align at left|center|right, indent,
unindent, automatic indention, remove empty lines, join lines, change
case, convert special characters into HTML code: automatically or by
a menu command, quote emails, number lines, insert HTML-Color code,
create "image tags" (HTML), go to corresponding brackets and very
much more. Among Pad's most outstanding features is the support of
Clip libraries. This tool manages not only short text fragments and
characters, but also entire files. These texts or characters can be
put into the document, surround the current selection or they can be
dynamically customized with input boxes. Furthermore, it is a kind of
a macro player, which eg. creates a new document or pastes the
Clipboard's contents. Moreover, several variables, as eg. the name of
the currently opened document or the current date, are available.
Also includes message box functions and a feature to run other tools.
Clip libraries are written in a special, easy script language and can
be created and tested directly in Pad. In addition to that a Template
function is available. Even a Project feature is not missing. The
state of a Project will be saved when you close it, so that you can
start where you let off. A handy file browser, a Glossary function,
as well as the capability of enhancement by supporting plugins are
included. Naturally, Pad contains all the standard features, as:
print, print preview with high capability of customization, powerful
Search and Replace with regular expressions, alter MS-DOS or Unix
documents, some text infos, several Clipboard features, Bookmarks,
Favorites, line bookmarks und much more.
