These are the instructions for updating the Tax Tables for
Quickbooks Pro v6 for WINDWOWS. However, according to Intuit's
Website, these tables should work for all QB versions 3.1 and
higher. You don't need to read below, I just copied this from
the "Updates Received" from within QB for your info.
All I did was follow the instructions for backing-up the Tax
Table files...except I Zipped them for you so you don't have to
pay $69.95 for 5 little files that cost them maybe $1 !!!
Just copy them to your Quickbooks program directory (folder).

Note: If you haven't subscribed to the QuickBooks Tax Table Service or the QuickBooks Online Payroll Tax Service, this is the only payroll tax table update you will receive. We recommend that you subscribe to ensure that you always have the most recent tax tables. State and federal tax laws can change at any time! We'll keep you up to date when you subscribe.

To install your new tax table:
1. If you have not already done so, back up your QuickBooks data.
2. Exit QuickBooks.
3. When you see a message asking whether or not to install the latest update to QuickBooks, click Yes.
If you also downloaded an update of the QuickBooks program itself, the entire update may take several minutes.
After you have installed the tax table files, you can run QuickBooks as you normally would.
If you share your company file over a network:
If you use QuickBooks Pro 6.0 to share your company file over a network, your coworkers can install the new tax table you just downloaded.
Each coworker should open the company file and then exit QuickBooks.
When QuickBooks displays the message about installing the update, the coworker should click Yes.
Alternatively, after you have installed the tax table, you can put the necessary files on a disk to share with your coworkers. See the following instructions for copying the tax table and reinstalling it.
To store a copy of the new tax table:
1. Insert a formatted disk labeled "Tax Table 9903" in your disk drive.
2. Within Windows, open Windows Explorer and locate the following files: taxtbl.usa, prform32.usa, qbma2412.1pa, qbma2901.1pa and qbmfs.1pa.
NOTE: You can find these files in the folder that contains your QuickBooks program (usually C:\QBOOKSW or C:\Program Files\Intuit\QuickBooks).
3. Copy these files to the formatted disk, and store the disk with your QuickBooks program disks or CD-ROM.
If you ever need to reinstall this tax table:
1. Be sure the QuickBooks program is not running.
2. Using Windows Explorer, copy taxtbl.usa, prform32.usa, qbma2412.1pa, qbma2901.1pa and qbmfs.1pa from your stored disk to the directory that contains your QuickBooks program (usually C:\QBOOKSW or C:\Program Files\Intuit\QuickBooks).
NOTE: You are replacing files that QuickBooks already uses, so answer Yes if prompted to overwrite existing files.
