This small utility, has been designed for the fast search of files
at the local hard drive and the other accessible net/local disks.
The program searches files by the contents of files, filenames,
filetypes, creation/changing dates, the size of files. The
searching engine has been developed using pure assembler, that
provides up to double speed superiority over analogue programs.
FindIt! searches files without making indexes that will save your
time and free space at your hard drive. For Russian and Ukrainian
documents the program can search using contents in several
encodings, such as: DOS-866, WIN-1251, KOI-8, Unicode, RTF files.
The program selects encoding according to filetype. This utility
correctly recognizes more than 130 types of files, analyzing not
only the extension of files but the contents of file as well.
Features:
- fast searching engine without creating indexes at your hard
drive;
- correct determination of more than 130 filetypes;
- searching in several encodings for Russian and Ukrainian texts:
DOS-866, WIN-1251, KOI-8, Unicode, RTF files;
- possibility of reviewing files' content with highlighting found
fragments;
- searching the sequence of words;
- searching results organized in pages.
