* File Flash - This feature allows the user to have the LAPSAudio Direct MP3
Recorder automatically choose a new filename to switch to during a recording
session. The user no longer has to stop the recording to change the output file.
New in Version 2.0 is Auto-Flash. Auto-flash can be configured to detect when
a song is finished and automatically start a new file.
* Pause - The pause button allows the user to continue listening to the audio
output, but not be recording to disk. Hitting the pause button again will resume
recording to disk. New in Version 2.0 is Auto-Pause. Auto-Pause can be used
nicely in recording live audio where silence can be automatically elliminated
during the recording.
* Output Stereo - A mono recording or file can be easily converted to stereo
for burning to CD.
* Config Menu - This menu item is new to Version 2.0. Under it are several
other configurable items including some general, auto-flash, auto-pause,
and buffers configurations. It is in the buffers configurations that
adjustments can be made for slower PCs.
* ID3 Tag Editor - Under the 'File' menu is the ID3 Tag dialog,
where ID3 Tags can be viewed and edited.
* VU Meters - These meters reflect the output and input signal level at any
given time. The scale is from 0 dB at the top down to û80 dB at the bottom.
There is a button which turns the VU meters on and off. Turning them off saves
some computer processing horsepower, which may be needful on some slower
machines. By positioning the mouse over the VU meters, a window pops up to
indicate what level on the meter is being pointed to. This is useful in
configuring the auto-flash and auto-pause features.
