Do-It-Yourself Patch for ACDSee32 v2.21+ (or higher versions)

There have been a lot of postings and complaints in the newsgroups
that the crack for ACDSee32 v2.21 is not working. After investigations,
I found out that :
THERE ARE MORE THAN ONE VERSIONS OF ACDSEE32 OUT THERE!!
and each of them have different filesizes.
I was requested to make a generic patch which works for all versions.
At first, I thought it was a good idea .. but after more thoughts,
I think not. I'll be further blamed if something goes wrong becoz
1. generic patches ignores filesize
2. if it finds more than one matches, all will be patched!
If you should think a serialz is always better, I won't disagree with
you. So far, I have seen more than 2 serialz for ACDSee32 out there.
(so go and search for them)
However, if you want to register it using your name, then this is what
you can do :
1. use a hexeditor (e.g. hexworkshop) to edit acdsee32.exe
2. search for 3AD3752F84C97416
3. replace with 3ADB752F84C97416
4. search for 3AD3751F83C00283
5. replace with 3ADB751F83C00283
After patching it, then start the program and register it using
your name and any serial number.
make sure your name is more than 5 characters long!
If a newer version of ACDSee32 is out, then do what you have done
above. If you can't find the complete string, then reduce it gradually.
e.g.
1. first search for 3AD3752F84C97416
2. if you can't find, then search for 3AD3752F84C974
3. if still can't find, then search for 3AD3752F84C9
4. if you find more than one similar strings (e.g. around 3 similar ones),
then just use the "trial and error" method until you get the right one.
(the location/offset should be around 0002:F9XX)
If you don't understand what i'm talking about, then buy the program, :-)
