Trend MicroÖ Damage Cleanup ServerÖ is based on Trend Micro HouseCallÖ, the first
online virus scanning service available to Web users. You can install Damage
Cleanup Server on your local Web server or company Intranet server.
Damage Cleanup Server provides on-demand scans. It detects viruses
and cleans files on your system at the time of the scan. Damage Cleanup
Server also integrates the Damage Cleanup Services (DCS) into the Damage
Cleanup Server client. DCS detects Trojans, recovers system files
(e.g., registry, win.ini, wininit.ini) that are modified by Trojans,
kills their processes, and deletes files dropped by them. However, for
real-time virus protection, you must use standalone antivirus software
such as Trend Micro PC-cillinÖ or Trend Micro OfficeScanÖ.
Keep your virus protection up to date by scheduling automatic updates
from the Trend Micro Web site. The latest scan engine, pattern file,
or program files will be automatically downloaded to your server.
You can also use the Damage Cleanup Server Web console to send
notifications to clients via email. If a Trojan or a virus has
been detected on a network an administrator can immediately
inform clients to scan their machines.
In addition to sending logs to a Trend VCSÖ server or used as data for the Trend Micro
World Virus Tracking center, you can also view both Virus and DCS logs locally.
Additionally, Damage Cleanup Server includes the ability to manually purge Virus and DCS
logs or schedule logs to be purged depending on the number of days they exist.
