Volt is a power monitoring and controlling utility. The primary
function of this program is to provide a visual display of the internal
battery state of a Laptop Computer. This can be shown via a compact
window with a graph and a text line, or by a simple icon with pop-up
status in the system tray. The window can be set to stay on, or when
the battery state changes according to the users preference. It also can
be placed in various set places, or be movable. The window can also be
set to be on-top of other windows.
The secondary function of Volt is a Quick Shutdown utility. In addition
to simple shutdowns, restarts, logging off, Power-Off and remote
shutdowns are also supported. There is a warn option as well as an
option to force a shutdown for closing un-responding programs. In
addition Volt supports delayed shutdowns, command line options and
logging.
The Window Shutdown function, known as Slam, adds the ability to easily
perform all shutdown operations. This can be useful for shutting down
windows automatically at a set time using the built in Scheduler. Force
can be used to closed crashed programs, and delayed / warned shutdowns
are also supported.
QWave is a compact alternative to much larger audio File player. It
allows most audio files to be played virtually instantly as opposed to
waiting for a larger program to load, display an window, and then play
the sound. Auto file type registering is supported, as well as early
sound termination for larger files.
The Wallpaper changer function will randomly choose a image from a
given directory. It natively supports only BMP files, but it is designed
to be used with an external converter / resizer.
Finally, the Run function allows a program / file to be run with
process priority, delay and cancel options.
All of the functions have logging functions and settings that are saved
for default use. Many of these settings can be overridden or changed
when run in Command Line Mode. Ute requires around 100kb of hard drive
space.
