Air Messenger LAN Server is a Paging Gateway Server that allows you
to send message to a Paging Network over a TCP/IP LAN.
This is useful if you have a company that the employees have access
to a network but not to a direct dialup line for a modem.
With a Air Messenger LAN Server running on your network, your
employees can send page to Phones or Pagers over your LAN by way
of the Air Messenger LAN Server.
The Air Messenger LAN Server also has a e-mail paging gateway option
that allows you the ability to connect to a mail server such as a
Microsoft Exchange Server, using the Windows Messaging System.
This allows you to connect to an a account and retrieve messages
that will be sent to users that have been enabled with that feature.
A New feature that has been added in Ver. 1.5 is an optional Web
Paging Server that allows you to send pages to users that you have
added to the shared user data base.
The Web Paging server also includes HDML support and HDML page
that allows you to send pages from any PCS or Digital Cellular Phone
that supports the U.P. Web Browser.
Support of the SNPP Protocol (Simple Network Paging Protocol) has
also been added.
This allows other paging clients that support this protocol to gate
messages through the Air Messenger LAN Server when a permanent
connection to the Internet is not available on your network or is
behind a firewall.
The SNPP option allows you to send pages over the Internet to a
providers SNPP Gateway.
This saves in long distance bills for both the provider and the
user sending a message.
