Reports-Lab acts as a companion tool for both Wealth-Lab
Developer and Wealth-Lab Pro versions 3.0 and above.
Its main purpose can be described as collecting backtests
(results of ChartScript runs and portfolio $imulations)
into a database file, which then can be examined at any
time, without even having to launch Wealth-Lab
Developer/Pro.

Database
The intention of Report-Lab developers was a bit spacious
than storing some plain performance numbers. Our utility
provides you with the ability to take thorough "snapshots"
of your backtests. Such database entry can include:
Performance
Complete results of ChartScript run or portfolio $imulation
rendered with either the built-in performance metrics of
Wealth-Lab Developer/Pro, or with the help of your favorite
PerfScript.
Trades
Entire historical list of trades taken by the strategy as
seen in the similar tab of the corresponding ChartScript.
Profit
The Profit Curve graph with Equity and Cash series,
overlayed with Buy&Hold. The above-mentioned series are
also stored in tabular form, on a bar-by-bar basis.
Drawdown
The Underwater Equity curve in graphical and tabular forms,
coupled with the list of drawdowns your strategy has taken,
their sizes and durations, which can be filtered.
Script
Full Chartscript code which was executed. What makes
difference between the database entry for a saved
ChartScript run or portfolio $imulation is the absence of
ChartScript code itself in the latter.
Data organization
You can mix ChartScript runs with portfolio $imulations in
the same database file without having worries about
consistency issues. Reports-Lab will organize your
backtests in hierarchical form in the Reports pane, placing
results of ChartScript runs and $imulations separately in
"ChartScript" and "Simulator" hives. With its ability to
sort the collected database entries by arbitrary
performance metrics, such as Net Profit % or Sharpe Ratio,
Reports pane may remind of "ChartScript Rankings" tool to
an experienced Wealth-Lab Developer user. (Contextually,
Reports pane could be as well named "ChartScript and
$imulation Rankings").
Portfolio Analysis
Tools in the 'Allocation' pane help you to achieve
effectual diversification in a multiple-symbol and/or
multiple-strategy portfolio. Portfolio allocation can be
analyzed by symbol or trading signal. The pie chart
displays the contribution of various parameters like
portfolio profits or trades by each of its components.
Comparing source codes
Storing the full ChartScript code along with its
performance data unfolds multiple possibilities. The
foremost example is certainly the Comparison feature of
Reports-Lab, which makes easy to track the stages of
perfecting ChartScript source code. Additions, corrections
and omissions between different versions are highlighted to
help you brush up the process of code creation.
Exporting capabilities
Report-Lab's internal database isn't a thing-in-itself.
Right click on any object such as ChartScript code, Profit
Curve graph or Report pane and have its contents exported
to clipboard or into variety of file formats, including MS
Excel spreadsheet, HTML document or bitmap image (to name a
few).
