WinD is a tray-icon program that allow you to open a directory by simply
typing its partial name. The original concept of WinD comes from another
DOS program called "PCD". With PCD, you just had to type PCD followed by a
directory's name to get into.
With WinD you can acess a directory in a maximum of three mouse click. You
activate WinD by pressing a combination of keys. Once you did it, a dialog
appears where you can type name of the directory you want to open. If WinD
find more than one directory matching your request, it shows you a list
where you can choose the directory you want to open.
For those who want to work faster, WinD offers the possibility to work only
with the keyboard.
With WinD, you can specify how you want the directories to be opened: in a
standard window or in an explorer window.
Another great option is that you can set the way WinD search for
directories. There are three search options :
- WinD can seek for all directories containing your search string.
- WinD can find all directories whose name begins with the search string.
- WinD search first for directories whose name are exactly the search
string. If there is no matches found, it search for all directories whose
name begins with the search string.
